The Unacceptable Revolution
Consent of the Governed Manifests in Many Ways
A “current thing” this week is the news that the nation of Qatar wants to ‘give’ Donald Trump a plane for him to use as Air Force One. Many of the usual suspects are up in arms about this very weird looking situation. This article is a great example. “Trump’s own fans hate it!” “It’s a bribe!” The key to understanding this move and almost any move made since his most recent inauguration is to break the issue into two pieces: 1. The Situation & 2. His Response. Looking back, this framework exposes the same result over and over again. In every case, the vast majority of ink spilled in various forms of media is either cheering or disparaging His Response. When the commentary comes from his detractors, it is often filled with incredulity at how dumb His Response is. When the commentary comes from his supporters, it is often driven by how unacceptable The Situation is.
To use the Qatar plane issue as an example, The Situation with Air Force one is unacceptable. In fact, I wrote about this exact topic in a post on January 25th of this year:
Expect What You Accept
People can know important general trends either intellectually or culturally without it becoming real and impactful until a specific example snaps them out of ambivalence. I’ve recently written about recovery progress from the Lahaina fires and the impact of all the ‘help’ that community has been given. But that was an emergency, unplanned and somehow…
TLDR; we are paying $1 billion each for two new Air Force Ones, and Boeing somehow, with this obscene amount of money, can’t build 2 planes in a 10 year period.
The average American, when made aware of this, will likely see this as the latest in a string of examples highlighting either government incompetence, corporate corruption, or both. If DJT went on TV and said “Qatar is willing to give us this plane for free tomorrow, and Boeing has taken $2 billion without delivering a plane.” Odds are public opinion would be in favor of taking the free plane.
But the rules! The regulations! Our Democracy! The principles! Our ethics standards! The chattering classes can’t stomach His Response because it isn’t following ‘the rules’. I’m personally queasy about His Response on a lot of topics. But intellectual honesty requires me to acknowledge that The Situation at hand has almost always become unacceptable, and there is nobody with an ability to affect change proposing any workable solutions. The illegal immigration crisis, our bloated federal bureaucracy, the NGO industrial complex which may literally be a criminal racket, (also written about here),
the unsustainable fiscal train wreck that is our debt & deficit, the higher education cartel that siphons billions of dollars off the Federal Government to exclusively indoctrinate members of one political party while building billion dollar hedge funds, (also written bout here),
all of this and so much more is absolutely unacceptable.
If you believe that history repeats, or that it doesn’t repeat - it rhymes, we’ve seen this movie before. More than 175 years ago, Frederick Bastiat sums it up nicely:
“When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”
The alternative to Trump cannot be Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Lindsey Graham, Barak Obama, Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush, etc…. they all either built, exploited, or allowed the system to get where it is today. Whether or not these individuals got elected, the governed did not consent to our current situation.
Whether this was a conspiracy of geniuses or fools, it doesn’t matter. There will be a new leader after Trump, and that person will win by agreeing that The Situation is unacceptable. Anyone worried about a coming dictatorship of the right or socialist dystopia from the left needs to realistically grapple with The Situation and support leaders who will tackle The Situation with Responses that align with our founding documents. Bitching about His Response appears to anyone outside of the DC trough as accepting The Situation, and The Situation is unacceptable.
Welcome to the Unacceptable Revolution.

Trump loves to stir the pot …any pot. And to manipulate the media … all media. I really like the quote on plunder. 👍👍👍
Besides the NGOs, RICO the foundations.
